Hey there, I'm Erwin!

Welcome to my Date Me page. I learned about this idea from a friend and thought it's a great idea since I love documenting everything on this blog.

If you think this is ridiculous, that is OK. I guess it was not meant to be :(

This is simply a way to meet new people in a more intentional and thoughtful way. Here is a look at who I am and what matters to me. Life is short and no need to waste time dating people if there's not really any long term potential.

But if something here resonates, I would love to hear from you :)

Who I Am

  • Age: 41

  • Height: 5’ 6”

  • Faith: My Christian faith shapes how I live, how I make decisions, and how I care for people. I currently attend Mariner's Church - North Irvine.

  • Occupation: IT stuff at Induce Biologics. We make bone regeneration products. My work centers on building strong systems, supporting teams, and creating calm in the middle of chaos.

  • Passions: I love endurance sports. My focus is triathlon since one sport is not enough. I also like to race in HYROX since I want to run fast but stay strong. I love the long training blocks because they have taught me discipline, grit, and a lot about myself. I also enjoy building meaningful projects like my Muir Rock blog, podcast, and started Muir Rock Fitness & Yoga in August 2025.

  • Education: MBA & B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Irvine. I wasn't the best student but I got my degrees and always had a job since the day I graduated college, so let's leave it at that.

  • Credit Score: Pretty high. Why does this matter?? Financial issues are the #1 cause of divorce. I'm pretty responsible when it comes to money, regardless of how many Amazon packages show up every week.

Core Values (Stuff I like to blog and talk about)

  • Humility: I don’t deserve the life I’ve been blessed with. It’s all God’s grace. And even though I’ve been around the block in my career and with life experience, I try to stay grounded and love being around people who do the same.

  • Perseverance: Life’s thrown some major curveballs like losing Teri (April 2023) and my dad (Jan 2025), but I’ve learned that everything has a reason so its important to keep moving forward. My journey through grief, after losing my wife Teri to cancer, has taught me to fight for what matters. I dive deep into this on this blog if you’re curious.

  • Patience: I need to remind myself every day that life isn’t a sprint; it’s more like a marathon. I believe in slowing down and taking time for what truly matters. Whether that’s relationships, rest, or figuring out how to help my colleagues fix their computers.

Current Goals:

  • Meet you in person. Preferably over dinner? Bonus points if Mayo can meet you too. He is so cute.

  • Read the bible cover to cover. 2026 should be the year to make it happen.

  • Move into a part time consultant or board of directors role by Age 45.

  • Publish a book on Amazon on "The Story of Terwin" (stuff from this blog).

  • Qualify for the Ironman World Championship by Age 50.

  • Qualify for the Boston Marathon by Age 50.

What I don't want to do

  • Buy my own place to live. I really like where I am now (Irvine, Woodbridge) and am OK renting for a long time.

  • Use online dating apps. It's a lot of work! I did meet Teri through eHarmony, so I'm not against them. Just not right now. This page is way better.

  • Swim. Out of all the fitness stuff I do, this one has always been the most difficult. So it's on the top of my list to focus on. But I know it's so good for you and if I ever want to be a serious triathlete, I need to get in the pool.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Someone who is Christian, cute, and values deep, meaningful connections.

  • Someone who appreciates honest, transparent communication and isn’t afraid to share, just like I’m doing right here.

  • Someone who loves cute dogs because my dog, Mayo, and I come as a package deal :)

  • Someone who would appreciate the time I put into this (since it saves you time if I’m not what you’re looking for).

  • Someone who likes to have fun and get out of their comfort zone. I went on a cruise recently and sang Karaoke with someone I just met.

What I’m NOT Looking For:

  • If you’re known for being overly anxious or constantly critical about others. We may not be a good fit.

  • If you’re in a relationship or just got out of one. I totally get that life can be better when we are with someone. I feel like I have grown tremendously during this time of singleness. I hope you can take some time for yourself before jumping back in!

  • If you’re way too busy or stressed to invest in a relationship. Let’s be real, building something meaningful takes time and commitment. After being married for 3.5 years, I think it's totally worth it!

Fun Facts:

  • Personal Projects: When I’m not working or training, I run the Muir Rock podcast and this blog, where I share my thoughts on life, loss, and everything in between. I'm also working on a book that contains a lot of the content from the blog.

  • Athletic Side: I’ve completed over 100 races (triathlons, marathons, you name it) and don’t plan on slowing down. Maybe I'll cut back a bit if I get into a relationship. If you’re into fitness, we’ll have plenty to talk about. I also have a tandem bike we can use :)

  • Balance: Outside of work, mountain biking, the idea of traveling, teaching yoga sculpt, and collecting cute stuff, I’m based in Irvine, where I’m balancing a full professional life with my hobbies, training, and plenty of quality time with Mayo.

  • Communication: Facebook Messenger is my favorite way to chat (just add me as a Friend) but I’m totally down for in-person meetups or phone calls too.

References:

  • Available upon request. From people who promise they’re unbiased, even if they might get a referral fee or fancy dinner if we get married.

If you made it till the end and any of this resonates with you, please send me a message and let’s see where this goes! If you think this is crazy but you still made it to the end, I still want to hear from you.
