Hey there, I'm Erwin!
Welcome to my Date Me page—the new way to meet new people since it’s 2024 and this is what we do now instead of dating apps. Here’s a quick tour of who I am. and what's important to me. Let’s see if we’re a good match!

Who I Am

-
Age: 40 (But my Fitness Age—according to my Garmin—is 34).
-
Height: 5’ 6” (though with the right pair of shoes and a little imagination, I’m practically 6’ 5”)
-
Faith: My Christian faith is the foundation of everything I do, from how and why I live to how I treat others.
-
Occupation: Director of IT at Induce Biologics. We make bone regeneration products—so, if I’m not fighting off tech issues, I’m helping rebuild bones. Almost like working in finance… but way cooler.
-
Passions: Besides getting to know you better and working on that trust fund, I’m all about endurance races, particularly triathlons. The grind, the thrill of crossing the finish line and possibly ending up in the medical tent like I did at my last race—I love it all. And I really enjoy organizing stuff.
-
Education: MBA & B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Irvine. I wasn't the best student but I got my degrees and let's leave it at that.
Core Values

-
Humility: I don’t deserve the life I’ve been blessed with—it’s all God’s grace. And even though I’ve been around the block in my career and with life experience, I try to stay grounded and love being around people who do the same.
-
Perseverance: Life’s thrown some major curveballs, but I’ve learned that everything has a reason so its important to keep moving forward. My journey through grief, after losing my wife Teri to cancer, has taught me to fight for what matters. I dive deep into this on this blog if you’re curious.
-
Patience: Life isn’t a sprint; it’s more like a marathon. I believe in slowing down and taking time for what truly matters—whether that’s relationships, rest, or figuring out how to help my Dad use his iPhone.

2024 Goals:

-
Meet you in person. Preferably over dinner? Bonus points if Mayo can meet you too.
-
Finish reading the Bible using the One Year Bible Project reading plan.
-
Finish Ironman California in under 11 hours and 30 minutes (and still be able to walk afterward).
-
Learn to cook five healthy-ish meals that are simple, low risk, but taste amazing.
-
Definitely NOT use online dating apps… well, except for this right here.
What I’m Looking For:

-
Someone who is Christian, cute, and values deep, meaningful connections.
-
Someone who appreciates honest, transparent communication and isn’t afraid to share—just like I’m doing right here.
-
Someone who loves cute dogs because my dog, Mayo, and I come as a package deal :)
-
Someone who would appreciate the time I put into this (since it saves you time if I’m not what you’re looking for).

What I’m NOT Looking For:

-
If you’re not a believer in Jesus, we will probably struggle with aligning on long term goals and values.
-
If you’re known for being anxious or constantly critical about others—we may not be a good fit.
-
If you’re in a relationship or just got out of one—I hope you can take some time for yourself before jumping back in!
-
If you’re way too busy or stressed to invest in a relationship. Let’s be real—building something meaningful takes time. But it's worth it.

Fun Facts:

-
Personal Projects: When I’m not working or training, I run the Muir Rock podcast and this blog, where I share my thoughts on life, loss, and everything in between. I'm also working on a book that contains a lot of the content from the blog.
-
Athletic Side: I’ve completed over 100 races (triathlons, marathons, you name it) and don’t plan on slowing down. If you’re into fitness, we’ll have plenty to talk about. I also have a tandem bike we can use :)
-
Balance: Outside of work, mountain biking, the idea of traveling, and collecting cute stuff, I’m based in Irvine, where I’m balancing a full professional life with my hobbies, training, and plenty of quality time with Mayo.
-
Communication: Facebook Messenger is the easiest way to chat, but I’m totally down for in-person meetups or phone calls too.
