Recurrent Uterine Sarcoma

Dear friends and family,

It is with great sadness that we inform you all that Teri's cancer has returned.

A few weeks ago, Teri visited the ER due to stomach pains and breathing difficulties. While at Hoag ER in Irvine, a CT scan revealed a mass in her abdomen measuring 8.5 x 5.1 x 7.6cm, and several masses in her lungs, the largest of which measured 6.3 x 4.2cm. A biopsy was performed a few days later and confirmed recurrent uterine sarcoma.

Teri will begin chemotherapy treatment with Doxorubicin on March 15, and we are awaiting genetic testing results to determine whether she is eligible for additional treatment. Our hope is that the chemotherapy will shrink the tumors, and if necessary, we will consider surgery to remove any remaining mass after several rounds of chemo. Additionally, we are hopeful that reducing the size of the tumors will alleviate the pain in her abdomen, which is currently being managed with pain medication and making it difficult for her to eat.

We have had time to process this information, and though we are sad and grieving, we are also hopeful. We are choosing to put our faith in God and trust that He has a plan for us through this trial. We know that He is with us every step of the way and will provide us with the strength and courage to face whatever lies ahead.

We are grateful for the love and support of all those around us. Your prayers and encouragement mean more to us than words can express. We know that with God's help and the support of our community, we will be able to fight this battle with hope and resilience.

We believe that God has a purpose for everything, even the difficult and painful moments in our lives. We know that this experience will teach us important lessons and draw us closer to Him.

We ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers as Teri undergoes treatment and we navigate this new chapter in our lives. We are confident that with God's grace, we will emerge stronger and more grateful than ever before.
